Where can I get Backgammon Buddy?
Android version 0.14.0 (build 10061) is publicly available on Google Play in supported regions. Invited testers may also use the Android tester opt-in with the invited Google account. An iOS version is planned next, but there is no App Store listing or release date yet. Windows is used for development and testing, not offered as a public release platform.
How do I delete my online data?
In the app, open Settings → Privacy and choose Delete online identity and data. It uses this device's saved sign-in to prove ownership. Once accepted, the request immediately blocks online-match access for that identity and both players' access to its associated matches. The app signs it out locally, or tells you if local sign-out failed. Local History and practice remain on your device. Freevia handles the underlying identity and shared match-log deletion within 30 days; hosted match access also expires 30 days after creation. See the privacy policy for details and Google's separate authentication-data retention.
If you cannot use the in-app action, email [email protected]. We will need to verify ownership before deleting online data; a player identifier or match invitation on its own is not enough. Never email a password or access token.
Why is the tutor unavailable in a peer match?
Live nearby and online matches are intentionally unassisted. You can review saved games and practise decisions after the match. Tutor guidance is available in supported local learning flows, including computer play. See real Android screenshots on the main page.
Do I need the camera to play nearby?
No. The camera can scan a nearby game's pairing QR code on your device, but you can enter the pairing address manually instead. On-screen games, tutoring, review and practice do not require camera or microphone access.
What about GitHub?
The Backgammon Buddy source repository is public, and Freevia's first-party source is MIT-licensed. Third-party components keep their own licenses.
Use the bug report form or feature idea form. GitHub issues are public. Opening an in-app feedback draft sends version and platform details to GitHub before public posting. Diagnostics first shows its exact report, including any error excerpt, locally with Cancel and Open GitHub choices. Cancel sends nothing; opening the draft transmits its prefilled details. Review that preview for private information. You can edit the draft before submitting an issue, or cancel and use the support email above.
